Why Virtual Groups Work Perfectly for New Jersey Women
Between work demands in Manhattan, family responsibilities, and the reality of traffic on the Garden State Parkway, finding time for in-person support groups can feel impossible. That's what makes our virtual format so practical for New Jersey residents.
You can join from your home in Montclair after a long day commuting, participate from your office in Princeton during a lunch break, or connect from your apartment in Hoboken without worrying about finding parking. No matter where you are in the Garden State, you're just one click away from women who truly understand your experience.
The privacy of joining from home also matters. In New Jersey's communities, whether you're in a small town in Warren County or a busy suburb in Bergen County, anonymity can be valuable when discussing personal struggles with body image.

Maybe you successfully lost weight for health reasons, but you still automatically position yourself behind other people in photos at family gatherings in Atlantic City. You've reached your goal weight, but you still feel uncomfortable in your own skin at work events in Newark or social gatherings in your hometown.
Your friends and family tell you how great you look, especially after your hard work, but something inside doesn't believe them.
You still find yourself checking your reflection in every storefront window as you walk through downtown Princeton or Red Bank.
You might avoid beach trips to the Jersey Shore, even though you live so close to the beautiful coastline. The thought of being in a bathing suit around other people brings up the same anxiety you felt before your body changed.
The Struggles You’re Still Facing After Losing Weight
How My Group Approach Creates Real Change
Working on body image alone keeps you trapped in your own thoughts. When you're by yourself, those old patterns of checking mirrors, adjusting clothes, and avoiding social situations get stronger.
Group work changes this dynamic. When other women point out the difference between how you see yourself and how you actually look, your brain starts updating its picture of you. It's like having a reality check from people who have no reason to lie to you.
You'll also discover that your experience is completely normal. Meeting other New Jersey women who've lost weight but still struggle with body image helps you realize you're not flawed or ungrateful. You're dealing with something that happens to many people after significant body changes.
What Our 8-Week Program Covers
Notice the Fight You'll learn to recognize when you're fighting against body thoughts instead of just having them. Think of it like noticing when you're arguing with traffic on Route 95 instead of just accepting that it's slow today.
Choose Your Response Through group exercises and discussions, you'll practice having uncomfortable body thoughts without automatically reacting. Instead of immediately checking mirrors or adjusting your clothes, you'll learn to choose actions based on what matters to you.
Do What Matters to You We focus on living according to your values, not your body discomfort. You'll practice doing the things that matter to you, whether that's joining colleagues for lunch in downtown Morristown or attending your nephew's graduation party in South Jersey.
What Changes Look Like for New Jersey Women
After eight weeks, most group members tell me they can go to work events in Manhattan without spending the morning worrying about how they look. They can meet friends for dinner at that restaurant in Asbury Park without comparing themselves to the other women at the table.
They stop fighting their body thoughts and start engaging fully in conversations at family barbecues in their backyard or networking events in Princeton. They make choices about clothes, activities, and social events based on what they want to do, not based on avoiding body discomfort.
Most importantly, they feel like themselves inside and outside. That weird disconnected feeling of not recognizing your changed body goes away. You start seeing yourself the way others see you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I join if I live anywhere in New Jersey? Yes, our group is open to adult women living anywhere in New Jersey, from Jersey City to Cape May and everywhere in between.
What if I can't make it to every session? Consistent attendance is crucial for this work to be effective. We require commitment to all 8 sessions in order to join the group.
Do you offer payment plans? Full payment of $800 is required when you sign up. Many participants use HSA or FSA accounts, which can be used for mental health services.
How is this different from body positivity or self-love approaches? We don't focus on trying to love your body or think positive thoughts. Instead, we help you stop fighting your body thoughts so you can live your life fully, regardless of how you feel about your appearance on any given day.
Do you offer one-on-one ARFID therapy in addition to group support? Yes. While I run a specialized Body Image Support Group online for adults living in New Jersey, I also provide individual ARFID therapy sessions. Many clients find that combining group support with personalized one-on-one therapy accelerates their progress and addresses their specific needs.
