Adult Autism Assessment
Many adults reach a point where lifelong patterns begin to make more sense. Perhaps social situations have always felt confusing or exhausting. Maybe you’ve learned to “mask” or adapt in order to fit in, yet still feel different or misunderstood.
Some people discover autism while researching ADHD, burnout, anxiety, or sensory sensitivity. Others recognize similarities when a child or partner is diagnosed.
For many adults, getting clarity brings relief, validation, and a new understanding of themselves.
This assessment helps you explore whether autism may be part of your experience, offering insight you can use to better understand yourself and decide what support or adjustments may help moving forward.
Have you ever wondered if autism might explain your experiences?
Autism often goes unrecognized in adults, especially in people who learned early to adapt or camouflage their challenges.
You might relate to experiences such as:
• Feeling socially out of sync or exhausted after social interaction
• Difficulty interpreting social cues or unspoken expectations
• Sensory sensitivities to noise, light, textures, or crowds
• Strong need for routine or predictability
• Deep focus on specific interests
• Feeling overwhelmed by change or transitions
• Longstanding feelings of being different or misunderstood
• Chronic burnout from trying to keep up socially or professionally
Many adults spend years believing these struggles are personal flaws rather than differences in how their brain processes the world.
An assessment can help bring clarity and self-understanding.
Why Adults Seek Autism Assessment
This evaluation focuses on your developmental history, current experiences, and behavioral patterns to determine whether autism characteristics are present.
Areas we explore may include:
• Social communication and relationship experiences across your life
• Sensory sensitivities and environmental overwhelm
• Routine, structure, and change tolerance
• Attention patterns and focused interests
• Masking or social compensation strategies
• Emotional regulation and burnout patterns
• Work, academic, and relationship experiences over time
The goal is to understand your experiences in context, not to label unnecessarily.

Frequently asked questions
What happens during an adult autism assessment?
We talk through your life experiences, including social interactions, sensory sensitivities, routines, communication patterns, and how you’ve navigated work, relationships, and daily life over time.
Could something else explain my experiences instead of autism?
Sometimes challenges relate to ADHD, anxiety, trauma, or burnout. Part of the assessment is exploring how different factors may fit your experiences.
I’ve managed fairly well in life. Could I still be autistic?
Yes. Many autistic adults develop ways to adapt or mask differences, often at the cost of exhaustion or burnout. An assessment looks at lifelong patterns, not just outward success.
Do you accept insurance?
No. This is a self-pay service.
Will this assessment give me documentation for disability or accommodations?
No. This assessment is meant for personal understanding and clarity rather than formal documentation for services or eligibility.
Do I need a parent or family member involved?
Not usually. While background input can sometimes help, most adults provide enough history on their own.
Do we talk about childhood experiences?
Yes. Early experiences often help clarify long-term patterns, even if memories are incomplete or based on what you’ve been told by family.
Is there a single test that shows whether someone is autistic?
No. Adult autism assessment relies on detailed clinical conversation and validated screening tools rather than one definitive test.
